Personal Reflection:  This course was challenging in that there was a lot of information to be covered and retain.  I did enjoy the clinical aspect and patient care and putting what we learned together with real life scenarios.  This course also helped me revisit my knowledge in the human physiology area and how the body systems work.  We also were able to experience several different alternative experiences where we could visit different departments of the hospital and also outpatient dialysis.  I was able to see a heart catheterization and shadow the respiratory therapist at our healthcare facility.  This course gave me a much better understanding of caring for the adult person in the healthcare setting.

Personal Reflection:  This course gave me a great understanding of how to better care for the older adult and how to do it in a safe manner.  I feel like I benefited greatly from this experience and learned many new methods in dealing with the elderly.  I was able to safely transfer and ambulate older adults, as well as learn how their minds and bodies function differently than younger people.  We spent half of our semester in a nursing home Altercare, and the other half on a rehabilitation floor at Mercy Medical Center.  The two facilities were very different but both provided a great learning atmosphere.
